F.A.Q > Before Project

How much will I be charged for my estimate?

DeTomaso Construction offers complimentary detailed estimates. Our experienced estimators will make an appointment to meet with you to discuss the details of your project. At that time the estimator will also answer any initial questions you may have regarding this update to your home, as well as discuss design ideas.

Do I need a permit, and if so who will get it?

Most residential remodeling requires a permit to be obtained from the city in which you reside. DeTomaso Construction will obtain any permits required for your project to ensure compliance with city, county and state codes related to your project.

May I do some of the work myself?

DeTomaso Construction is a General Contractor that specializes in full service remodeling. We provide a full spectrum of remodeling needs for all phases of any scale project from start to finish. In the best interest of our clients DeTomaso Construction maintains a flexible approach and can offer the ability to coordinate and accommodate the homeowner that wishes to contribute work to their project.

How long will the project last?

The length and time required to complete your project greatly depends on the size and complexity of the project. DeTomaso Construction strives to keep the homeowner informed. At initial acceptance of the contract the time line and schedule will be addressed by the estimator. Your project will be followed closely throughout and you will be kept up to date on any changes in the schedule.

Do I need plans to receive an estimate?

Depending on the scale of your project plans may be required. In the event that you are still in preliminary stages of planning DeTomaso Construction can provide you with an Approximate Cost Estimate to get the process started.

Will I need my own architect for the project?

DeTomaso Construction works closely with reputable architects that can provide plans for your project. If you already have a set of architectural plans DeTomaso Construction can also provide an estimate from your existing plans. In the event that you provide your own set of plans we ask that the plans are an updated version that includes the latest revisions.

What is a typical payment schedule?

DeTomaso Construction requires down payment approximately two weeks prior to the start date of your project. Depending on the scale of your project there may be a contractual draw schedule established. Final payment is due upon completion of contracted work.

Will I be able to stay in my home during the remodeling?

Though any remodeling project to your home will create temporary inconveniences, DeTomaso Construction strives to minimize the disruption to your daily routine. As an experienced remodeling contractor DeTomaso Construction can help you to transition your daily lifestyle during this process as well as provide craftsman that are understanding of this temporary disruption to you and your home.
